8 Signs if A Guy Likes You

Want to know if the guy you secretly like feels the same? Don’t want to make a fool of yourself by misreading the signals? A little knowledge of the behaviour of the opposite sex can go a long way towards being able to read the signals so that your blushes are spared and your love life flourishes. Let’s be honest, you can never be 100% certain that the handsome guy you see every day on the bus is into you, but there are several signs that you can look out for which will leave you pretty sure he likes you. We’ve gathered the most commons ones so that you’re fully armed in the romance game….

#1 – It’s All In His Eyes

Put simply, if a guy likes you, he will look at you a lot. You might feel as though he’s checking you out but suddenly turns away when he’s been rumbled. Could it be pure coincidence? The key is that if it happens more than once, he probably likes you and wants you to know as much. Of course, with a shy guy, you may have to be more patient as the glances may not be as obvious but he will still want to look at you. Just be sure that it’s because he wants to know you and not because the new dress you’ve bought is, unknown to you, actually see-through!

#2 – You Make Him Nervous

Does he appear nervous or fidgety when he’s around you? Flustered? Or maybe even a little awkward? The chances are he’s anxious about making a good impression because he likes you and doesn’t want to scupper any chance he might have of getting to know you better. You  might even notice him quickly looking away when you’ve caught him looking at you. Either way, all of the above are green lights for you to let him know, subtlely of course, that the feeling is mutual. Just hope that his sweaty palms will disappear when the nerves subside!

#3 – He Checks For Your Reaction

He likes you and he wants to know that you’re interested in or amused by what he has to say. So don’t be surprised when, if he says something funny, he looks towards you before anyone else as he wants to know that you’ve found it funny. Your reaction to what he says matters to him more than anyone else’s. It might only be a brief, subtle glance towards you following the punchline, but be ready for it because it’s an indication that you’re the one that he wants! Of course, if you do genuinely like him, then you might have to fake a laugh even if you didn’t really find it that funny!

#4 – He Wants To Touch You

So you think he might like you? If he finds excuses to touch you, then he probably does. He might place his hand on yours when he laughs, or put his hand on your back when he speaks into your ear so he can be heard above the noise, or even touch his leg to yours but not move it away again so as to maintain that physical contact. They’re all signs that he wants to get to know you better so feel free to touch him back if you like him. Basically, the more contact he makes, the more he likes you. Needless to say, if he opens up with ‘Is that a new bra?’ and then continues to try to confirm his suspicions, then you can be certain that he’s not the one for you…

#5 – He’s Interested In What You Like And Do

OK, so he might not seem like the type of guy who’s into the TV programmes that you like to watch but the fact that he wants to know more about them has got to be a good sign, hasn’t it? He’s interested in you and that includes what you like to watch, listen to, do, not do…. you get the message. If you’ve shared your favourite band with him and then next time you see him, he can’t stop talking about them, then you can be pretty sure that he’s taken the effort to learn more about them. In short, he’s done this so that he has something in common with you in order to get closer to you. Let’s just say that your mutual love of hardcore punk is probably not a coincidence!

#6 – His Body Says ‘Yes, yes, yes!’

The experts continue to tell us just how significant body language is to communication in all areas of life. Read it well and you’re bound to know if he really likes you. In a nutshell, if he leans into you with his shoulders square to you, without turning his back, then it’s likely he’s already given himself away – he likes you. Add to that his frequent leaning towards you that is mirrored by you and his desire to get just that little bit closer as a result, then you can be pretty certain that he really likes you. Just hope that, when he’s welcomed into your personal space, he doesn’t let himself down by forgetting to have brushed his teeth!

#7 – He’s Often Where You Are

Have you noticed recently that he often pops up at places where you are? It’s pretty obvious that he wants to be close to you, especially if it’s been happening quite a lot in a short space of time. He’s making a deliberate effort to get to know you and feels that spending more time in the same places as you, even if not in your direct company, will increase his chances. He may be shy so, if you like him, maybe you’ll need to give him some encouragement that his efforts are not in vain. Naturally, if he seems to be at every single place where you are without fail, including sat on the kerb outside your house at midnight, then the word stalker comes to mind…

#8 – He Doesn’t Talk About His Favourite Subject – Himself!

In all honesty, we all like to talk about ourselves and men are no exception – just listen in on the chitter-chatter of the guys on the next table to you. You know you’ve got his attention when he keeps schtum, holds your gaze and genuinely listens to what you have to say. We’re not saying it must be true love, but he probably has a thing for you. Remember, he likes you and wants to know more about you so it’s only natural that he directs the spotlight from himself, a subject he already knows a great deal about, to the object of his desire.
